This introductory printmaking course systematically covers the major categories and production techniques of print art. Topics include materials, tools, and processes for woodcut, intaglio, lithography, and screen printing, including plate-making, printing, and color registration. Through analysis of classic print works and practical exercises, students master the basic linguistic characteristics and expressive power of printmaking. The course emphasizes the indirect and reproductive qualities of prints.
学生需选择一种版种创作一组4幅套色版画系列作品，每幅尺寸不小于40x50厘米，每版限量印制10份。要求作品围绕统一主题展开，运用所学版画技法，充分展现版种的材料特性与艺术语言。学生需完成从选题、草图、制版到印刷的完整创作流程。作品需附创作说明，阐述主题选择、版种理由、技术探索过程与艺术表达意图，并提交完整的版数作品。
Students select one print medium and create a series of four color prints, each at least 40x50cm, in a limited edition of ten. The works must revolve around a unified theme, applying learned print techniques while fully demonstrating the material characteristics and artistic language of the chosen medium. Students complete the full creative process from theme selection, sketches, and plate-making to printing.
