The core task of this step is to select a curriculum philosophy as the design foundation and conduct in-depth theoretical justification. Curriculum philosophy is the soul of curriculum design, determining the overall direction of curriculum goals, content, methods, and evaluation. Classic curriculum models such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and HighScope each have their philosophical foundations and practical characteristics; selection requires rational judgment considering educational subjects and goals.
• Deeply study the theoretical foundations, core concepts, educational goals, and practical strategies of three curriculum models: Montessori (sensitive period theory, prepared environment), Reggio Emilia (project approach, hundred languages of children), and HighScope (plan-do-review, key experiences)
• Use comparative analysis to compare different curriculum models from five dimensions: view of the child, view of education, teacher-child relationship, curriculum organization form, and evaluation method, justifying the suitability of the selected model
• Write a curriculum philosophy elaboration report, explaining selection rationale, core concepts, educational principles, and specific manifestations in this thematic activity, ensuring the curriculum design has solid theoretical support

Step 2
Theme Web Construction and Curriculum Goal System Design
The core task of this step is to construct the theme web and design a complete curriculum goal system. The theme web is the skeleton of thematic curriculum, organically connecting the theme with learning experiences across domains. Curriculum goals are the starting point and destination of curriculum design, should embody the concept of holistic development, and cover five developmental domains.
• Use the three-step method of "brainstorming - categorization - web construction" to build the theme web, starting from the core theme and branching out into sub-themes and specific activities across health, language, social, science, and art domains
• Based on the "Guide to Learning and Development for Children Aged 3-6", design a three-level goal system: unit goals, domain goals, and specific activity goals, with each goal containing four elements: behavior subject, action verb, behavior condition, and performance level
• Apply taxonomy theory to categorize goals into cognitive, skill, and affective dimensions, ensuring comprehensiveness and hierarchy of goals, providing clear basis for subsequent evaluation

Step 3
Refined Design of Series Activity Plans
The core task of this step is to write detailed plans for series activities, transforming curriculum goals into concrete and operable teaching activities. Activities are the basic carrier of curriculum implementation; good activity design should reflect children's subjectivity and promote their active learning and construction. Each activity should include five basic elements: objectives, preparation, process, extension, and evaluation.
• Design 8-10 series activities covering various organizational forms: collective teaching, learning centers, outdoor exploration, life integration, and home-kindergarten collaboration, forming a progressive activity sequence from shallow to deep
• Each activity plan follows the five-element structure of "activity objectives - activity preparation - activity process - activity extension - activity evaluation", with the process section including introduction, development, and conclusion stages, specifying specific teacher-child interaction methods
• Apply scaffolding instruction theory to design multi-level support strategies for each activity, including material scaffolding, question scaffolding, peer scaffolding, and teacher scaffolding, meeting learning needs of children at different developmental levels

Step 4
Learning Environment and Learning Center Planning
The core task of this step is to plan the learning environment and learning center settings that align with the theme. Environment is an important educational resource; the Reggio Emilia philosophy refers to environment as the "third teacher". Learning centers are important places for children's autonomous learning and active exploration; the appropriateness of material provision directly affects learning outcomes.
• Following the principles of quiet-active separation, wet-dry separation, and open-closed balance, plan the spatial layout and area proportions of activity zones: art, construction, dramatic play, science exploration, reading, and manipulative/puzzle
• Provide materials in stages according to theme progression, designing the material provision sequence according to "introduction - exploration - deepening - exhibition" phases, embodying hierarchy, openness, and inquiry-based characteristics
• Design interactive walls such as theme wall, question wall, and work display wall, planning ways for children to participate in environment creation, making the environment a carrier for recording and displaying children's learning process

Step 5
Systematic Curriculum Evaluation Plan Design
The core task of this step is to design a curriculum evaluation plan that combines process-oriented and outcome-oriented assessment. Evaluation is not the endpoint of curriculum but an important means to promote continuous curriculum improvement and children's sustained development. Early childhood education evaluation should follow process-oriented, developmental, and pluralistic principles, focusing on children's performance and progress in the learning process.
• Construct a diversified evaluation system, comprehensively using observation, portfolio analysis, work sampling, conversation, and parent evaluation methods to collect evaluation information from multiple angles
• Design child development evaluation indicators corresponding to curriculum goals, formulating specific and observable evaluation criteria and level descriptions from five domains: health, language, social, science, and art
• Design evaluation plan for the curriculum itself, including four dimensions: goal achievement, activity suitability, environmental effectiveness, and parent satisfaction, providing basis for curriculum improvement
