A-Level Chemistry (AQA 7404) is a linear qualification split into physical, inorganic and organic chemistry, examined by three terminal papers at the end of two years. A-Level Chemistry (AQA) is a mandatory subject for chemistry, chemical engineering, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary science and biochemistry, and strongly recommended for materials science, environmental science, food science and forensics. Many UK medical schools require Chemistry as a non-negotiable A-Level. The linear terminal exams reward integrated understanding of physical, inorganic and organic chemistry, providing a strong base for university organic synthesis, thermodynamics and biochemistry modules.
