A-Level History (AQA 7042) is a linear qualification combining one Breadth Study (Paper 1) covering around 100 years, one Depth Study (Paper 2) covering around 50 years, and a Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) Historical Investigation of 3,500 words spanning more than 100 years. Students develop source analysis, historical interpretation, causal reasoning and structured essay writing. It is a facilitating subject highly valued for history, law, politics, PPE, international relations and journalism applicants.
