• Systematically retrieve and read relevant research literature, including theoretical application studies, critical studies, and contemporary case studies, categorize by research perspective and core viewpoints, write literature review
• Select 1-2 typical contemporary media cases, such as a platform's algorithm recommendation mechanism, the spread of a certain online event, the social impact of a new media technology, etc., ensure cases have analytical depth

This step focuses on constructing the analytical theoretical framework and selecting appropriate cases, addressing the question of "which theory to use to analyze which cases." The clarity of the theoretical framework directly determines the depth and criticality of the analysis. It is necessary to transform core theoretical concepts into operational analytical dimensions, while selecting typical and rich cases for in-depth analysis.
