This course focuses on the systematic management of manufacturing and service operations. Topics include product design and process selection, facility layout and work design, aggregate production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), lean production, quality management (Six Sigma, SPC), and project management. Students learn quantitative tools such as queuing theory, simulation, and linear programming, with case studies on Toyota Production System, theory of constraints, and operations strategy.

Select a real manufacturing production line and analyze its current process flow and production efficiency. Identify bottleneck operations, apply industrial engineering methods for line balancing analysis, and calculate takt time and efficiency losses. Use lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, and kanban to propose improvement solutions with capacity improvement targets and implementation plans. Submit a complete report with current state analysis, improvement proposals, and benefit assessment.
