This course systematically introduces the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior modification techniques. Topics include the experimental analysis of behavior, classical and operant conditioning, reinforcement and punishment principles, functional behavioral assessment, and behavior change techniques (positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, extinction, shaping, fading, token economy, response cost, etc.). Students learn to use the ABC model for functional analysis, design and implement behavior intervention plans, and evaluate intervention effectiveness, with emphasis on ethical principles and positive behavior support.

积极行为支持方案设计
本步骤的核心任务是基于行为功能分析结果,设计积极的、整体的行为支持方案。积极行为支持(PBS)强调用积极的、建设性的方式替代问题行为,而不是简单惩罚。三级预防模式(全员普遍预防、 targeted群体干预、个别化密集干预)为行为支持提供了系统框架。

行为干预实施与数据监测

• 设计泛化训练策略,包括刺激泛化(不同环境、不同人物、不同材料)和反应泛化(不同行为表现),采用多范例训练、宽松强化、自然强化等方法促进泛化
• 制定维持策略,逐步撤去人工强化,转向自然强化,培养行为的内在动机,建立自我管理和自我监控能力,使行为能够长期保持
• 培训家长和其他环境中的成人在自然情境中维持干预效果,实现家校一致、多场景一致,构建支持性行为生态系统

危机行为应对与方案优化
本步骤的核心任务是制定危机行为应急预案,并根据干预效果持续优化行为支持方案。严重的问题行为(如自伤、攻击、破坏)可能造成安全风险,需要有预案。同时,行为干预是一个动态的过程,需要根据儿童的变化不断调整优化。

• 制定危机行为应急预案,识别危机行为的预警信号,明确应对步骤、人员分工、安全保障措施和事后处理程序,确保人身安全
• 定期(如每2-4周)召开行为支持团队会议, review行为数据,评估干预效果,分析存在的问题,讨论方案调整
• 建立持续改进机制,根据儿童的进步和新出现的挑战,动态调整行为支持方案,形成"评估-干预-监测-调整"的良性循环

Behavior Problem Assessment and Functional Analysis
The core task of this step is to systematically assess behavior problems of children with special needs and conduct Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). The premise of behavior management is to understand the function and cause of behavior, not simply to "control" behavior. Functional behavior analysis is the core technology of Positive Behavior Support (PBS), emphasizing that every behavior has its function and intervention must be based on the function rather than the form of behavior.

• Use ABC behavior recording method (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence) to systematically collect behavior data, determine the frequency, intensity, duration, and occurrence context of problem behaviors, and establish behavior baseline
• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) to determine the four major functions of problem behaviors through direct observation, indirect assessment (interviews/questionnaires), and functional analysis experiments: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, sensory adjustment, and access to tangibles
• Use functional analysis decision matrix to synthesize multi-source data, make hypotheses about behavior function, and verify the correctness of hypotheses, providing basis for behavior intervention plan design

Step 2
Positive Behavior Support Plan Design

The three-tier prevention model (universal prevention for all, targeted group intervention, individualized intensive intervention) provides a systematic framework for behavior support.

• Design functionally equivalent replacement behaviors based on behavior function, i.e., teach children a more appropriate behavior方式 with the same function, fundamentally solving problem behaviors
• Design antecedent control strategies, such as adjusting environment, adjusting tasks, advance notice, providing choices, etc., to prevent problem behaviors from occurring, embodying the philosophy of "prevention is better than intervention"

Step 3

Continuous data monitoring is the key to ensuring intervention effectiveness and the basis for timely plan adjustment.

• Train all relevant personnel (teachers, parents, therapists) to consistently implement the intervention plan, ensuring intervention consistency and fidelity, and produce an intervention implementation manual clarifying operational steps
• Establish a data collection system, select appropriate data recording methods (frequency recording, duration recording, time sampling, event sampling), regularly collect behavior data and create graphs
• Use single-subject research designs (such as AB design, multiple baseline design, alternating treatments design) to judge intervention effectiveness through visual analysis and statistical analysis, establishing a data-driven decision-making mechanism

Generalization training is an indispensable and important part of behavior intervention.

• Design generalization training strategies, including stimulus generalization (different environments, different people, different materials) and response generalization (different behavior manifestations), using multiple exemplar training, loose training, natural reinforcement methods to promote generalization
• Develop maintenance strategies, gradually fading artificial reinforcement, shifting to natural reinforcement, cultivating intrinsic motivation for behavior, establishing self-management and self-monitoring abilities, enabling behaviors to be maintained long-term
• Train parents and adults in other environments to maintain intervention effects in natural contexts, achieving home-school consistency and multi-scenario consistency, building a supportive behavior ecosystem

Step 5
Crisis Behavior Response and Plan Optimization
The core task of this step is to develop crisis behavior emergency plans and continuously optimize behavior support plans based on intervention effects. Severe problem behaviors (such as self-injury, aggression, destruction) may pose safety risks and require contingency plans. Meanwhile, behavior intervention is a dynamic process that requires continuous adjustment and optimization based on children's changes.

• Develop crisis behavior emergency plans, identify warning signs of crisis behaviors, clarify response steps, personnel division of labor, safety assurance measures, and post-incident handling procedures, ensuring personal safety
• Hold behavior support team meetings regularly (e.g., every 2-4 weeks) to review behavior data, assess intervention effectiveness, analyze existing problems, and discuss plan adjustments
• Establish a continuous improvement mechanism to dynamically adjust behavior support plans based on children's progress and emerging challenges, forming a virtuous cycle of "assessment-intervention-monitoring-adjustment"
