This introductory course provides a comprehensive overview of special education, covering foundational concepts, historical development, legal frameworks, and ethical guidelines. Students will explore the classification and characteristics of exceptional children, including learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional and behavioral disorders, and sensory impairments. The course also covers the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and service delivery models, fostering professional identity and basic competencies in special education.
学生需选择一个真实或模拟的特殊教育案例,撰写一份完整的案例分析报告。报告内容包括:学生基本情况描述、障碍类型与特征分析、现有教育支持措施评估、教育需求识别、以及初步的教育建议。要求结合课程所学的理论知识,引用至少三篇相关文献,分析深度和逻辑清晰度是评分重点。报告字数不少于3000字。
Students will select a real or simulated special education case and write a comprehensive case study report. The report should include student background, disability characterization, analysis of current support services, identification of educational needs, and preliminary recommendations. Students must integrate course theories, cite at least three relevant references, and demonstrate critical thinking. Minimum 3000 words.
