OCR A-Level English Literature (H472) is a linear two-year course assessed by two written papers and one coursework unit at the end of Year 13. OCR A-Level has moved to a linear structure since 2015, so all exams are taken at the end of the course. The specification centres on close reading, genre study and the comparison of texts across periods and cultures, spanning Shakespeare, pre-1900 poetry and prose, post-1900 literature and a free-choice coursework topic. A facilitating subject for English, law, journalism, history, PPE and the humanities.
