IB Economics is a two-year secondary economics course offered by IBO, available at both Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL). The IB Economics IA is a portfolio of three real-news commentaries worth 30% (SL) or 20% (HL) of the final grade. Each commentary must cover a different syllabus unit (micro, macro, global economy), be up to 800 words, and demonstrate the ability to apply economic concepts to interpret news and evaluate relevant diagrams and policies. HL must also include quantitative analysis.
