Course Overview 课程介绍

IB 英语分 A（文学/语言与文学，近母语）与 B（外语）两系列，各设 HL/SL。

IB English has several strands: English A: Literature and English A: Language and Literature, for students at near-native level, emphasizing close reading, literary/non-literary analysis and comparative study; English B for learners of English as a foreign language, emphasizing communicative use and the four skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking); plus English A: Literature and Performance. All strands are available at HL and SL, with A strands reading 4 (SL) or 6 (HL) works. A foundational subject for humanities, media, law, and social science applicants.

Internal Assessment 内部评估 IA

IA 为 Individual Oral 个体口试，A 系列基于全球性问题，B 基于主题 stimulus。

The IB English IA is the Individual Oral, conducted in school and externally moderated. English A: based on one studied work plus a self-chosen non-literary text, students explore a global issue in a 10-minute oral + 5-minute Q&A, worth 30% (SL) / 20% (HL). English B: based on a stimulus and theme, students do a 12-15 min (HL) or 8-10 min (SL) oral presentation and discussion, worth 30% (SL) / 25% (HL). HL also completes an HL Essay as part of external assessment.
