ExtNote: IGCSE Business (0450 / 0986) has no Core/Extended tier; all candidates sit the same Paper 1 and Paper 2, uniformly graded A* - G or 9-1. Difficulty gradients are reflected in question type and assessment depth rather than tiering.
Specifically: Paper 1 is a short-answer and data response paper (covering all six topics), relatively foundational; Paper 2 is a case-study-based extended question paper (all compulsory), requiring analysis, recommendation and evaluation. Topics 1-2 are foundational; topics 3-6 demand higher analysis and evaluation (involving marketing mix quantitative decisions, financial statement interpretation, break-even analysis, integrated external environment impact), so topic tags on this page distinguish core and ext by relative difficulty.
| Paper 1 | Short Answer and Data Response · 1h30m · 80 marks · 50% |
| Paper 2 | Case Study · 1h30m · 80 marks · 50% |
Note: Both papers cover all six topics; Paper 2 is based on a real business context case, requiring all questions to be answered. No practical exam; no Core/Extended choice.
衔接 A-Level 9609、IB Business Management,商科管理建议 A*/9 并配合经济数学。
IGCSE Business is the standard preparation for A-Level Business (CAIE 9609), IB Business Management HL/SL and business management pathways. After completing IGCSE Business, students can progress directly to A-Level AS; those with a solid foundation in business objectives, marketing mix, financial basics and external influences transition more smoothly to A-Level strategic management, HR theory, marketing strategy and quantitative financial decision-making. For students applying to business, management or marketing, an A* or 9 in IGCSE Business is recommended, alongside strong IGCSE Economics and Mathematics.
