Course Overview 课程介绍

IGCSE 数学 14-16 岁,分 Core/Extended,A-Level 数学/IB Mathematics 标准前置。

IGCSE Mathematics is the international GCSE Maths course for students aged 14-16, and is the standard preparation for A-Level Mathematics and IB Mathematics. It covers number, algebra and graphs, coordinate geometry, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, vectors and transformations, probability and statistics. The Extended tier adds functions, composite/inverse functions, obtuse-angle trigonometry, logarithms and exponentials.

Syllabus 章节大纲

Core vs Extended Core 与 Extended 区分

Core 不含圆定理、函数、对数、正余弦定理;Extended 增加全部,上限 A*/9。

CoreCore covers basic number and algebra, geometry and mensuration, simple trigonometry and statistics, without full circle theorems, function composition and inverse functions, logarithms, sine/cosine rules, conditional probability or quantitative cumulative frequency analysis. Core caps at grade C, with relatively short and direct questions.

ExtExtended builds on Core by adding full circle theorems, functions (f(x) and composite/inverse functions), logarithms and exponentials, obtuse-angle trigonometry and sine/cosine rules, vector algebra, conditional probability and advanced statistical graphs (quantitative histograms and cumulative frequency curves). Extended questions are longer and more synthesised, capping at A* / 9, and is essential for progression to A-Level Mathematics or IB Mathematics HL/SL.

Exam Structure (CAIE 0580 / 0980) 考试结构

Paper 1Core short-answer · 1h · 56 marks · 35% · no calculator
Paper 2Extended short-answer · 1h30m · 70 marks · 35% · no calculator
Paper 3Core structured · 2h · 104 marks · 65% · calculator allowed
Paper 4Extended structured · 2h30m · 130 marks · 65% · calculator allowed

Note: Core candidates sit Paper 1+3; Extended candidates sit Paper 2+4. No practical exam.

Pathway 适用衔接

Extended 推荐衔接 A-Level 9709、Further Maths 9231、IB Math AA/AI,理工经济建议 A*/9。

IGCSE Mathematics (Extended recommended) is the standard preparation for A-Level Mathematics (CAIE 9709), A-Level Further Mathematics (CAIE 9231) and IB Mathematics AA/AI HL/SL. After completing IGCSE Mathematics Extended, students can progress directly to A-Level AS; those with a solid foundation in functions, coordinate geometry, trigonometry and statistics transition more smoothly to A-Level calculus, mechanics, probability and statistics. For students applying to STEM, economics or business, an A* or 9 in IGCSE Mathematics is recommended. Strong students targeting mathematics, physics or engineering may also take IGCSE Additional Mathematics (0606) concurrently.
