This introductory course provides a comprehensive overview of anthropology's four subfields: cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, archaeology, and linguistic anthropology. Students explore human biological evolution and cultural diversity, learning fundamental research methods and core concepts including cultural relativism, ethnographic methods, kinship systems, and religious beliefs.

Select a cultural phenomenon in daily life (campus clubs, festival customs, internet subcultures, etc.) and analyze it using anthropological concepts. Submit a 3000-word mini-ethnography including participant observation notes, interview data, and cultural analysis demonstrating understanding of cultural relativism and holistic perspective.
