This course explores historical cultural phenomena and their interaction with society, covering intellectual history, art history, religious history, everyday life history, and memory studies. The course introduces cultural history theories and methods, including the new cultural history, and analyzes various types of sources such as texts, images, material culture, and rituals, examining how culture shapes worldviews, values, and behaviors, and how culture interacts with politics and economy.
学生选取一份具体的文化史料（如一本书籍、一幅绘画、一部电影、一种习俗等）作为研究对象，运用文化史研究方法进行深入分析。论文约3500字，要求将文本/图像置于具体历史语境中解读，探讨其生产、传播与接受过程，揭示其文化内涵与社会意义，体现对文化史理论与方法的掌握。
Students select a specific cultural source (such as a book, painting, film, or custom) as their research object and conduct in-depth analysis using cultural history methods. The 3500-word paper should interpret the text/image within its specific historical context, explore its production, circulation, and reception, reveal its cultural meaning and social significance, and demonstrate mastery of cultural history theories and methods.
