This course covers European history from the late Middle Ages to the present, including the Renaissance, Reformation, Enlightenment, French Revolution, Industrial Revolution, two world wars, Cold War division, and European integration. The course focuses on major European powers such as Britain, France, Germany, and Russia, while exploring broader European political, economic, social, and cultural transformations and Europe's role in shaping the modern world.
学生选取欧洲历史上的一个专题进行比较研究（如英法革命之比较、德意统一道路之比较、欧洲福利国家模式比较等），通过对比分析深化对欧洲历史发展路径多样性的理解。论文要求约3500字，运用比较史学方法，引用相关学术文献，提出有深度的分析观点。
Students conduct a comparative study on a theme in European history (such as a comparison of the English and French revolutions, German and Italian unification paths, or European welfare state models). Through comparative analysis, students deepen their understanding of the diversity of European historical development. The 3500-word paper should employ comparative historical methods, cite relevant scholarship, and present insightful analysis.
