This course examines the development of world history from the Renaissance to the present, covering political revolutions, industrialization, colonial expansion, world wars, the Cold War, and globalization. Students will explore the evolution of major civilizations, grasp the key narratives of modern world history, understand the historical roots of contemporary international relations, and develop historical thinking and a global perspective.
学生自选一个近现代世界史上的重大事件或议题（如法国大革命、工业革命的社会影响、非殖民化运动等），利用中英文史料和学术文献进行深入研究，撰写一篇约3000字的研究论文，要求有明确的论点、充分的证据支撑和规范的注释格式。
Students choose a major event or theme in modern world history (such as the French Revolution, social impacts of industrialization, or decolonization movements), conduct in-depth research using primary and secondary sources in both Chinese and English, and write a 3000-word research paper with a clear thesis, supporting evidence, and proper citation format.
